Over the next 25 years, the global power demand is expected to double. The tough question is: How can we meet this need while at the same time protecting our environment? Siemens answers: The world's largest and most efficient fully air-cooled gas turbine, the Siemens SGT5-8000H. It generates 340 MW – enough power to supply a city like Hamburg, a city of two million inhabitants. The turbine is designed to achieve more than 60 percent efficiency for operation in a combined cycle power plant while significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Take a look behind the scenes at the planning and manufacturing as well as installation and First Firing in Irsching/Bavaria, where the SGT5-8000H is currently being tested.
